When You Need a Hand, Open Arms Can Help

We all need a little help sometimes. That's why we're here—to get you through life's hard times. When you come to Open Arms, we'll do everything we can to keep your short-lived hardship from becoming a way of life.

Get assistance in 2 simple steps

1. Get your CAP card.

Before we can help, you'll need an approved identification card from Gilbert's Community Action Program (CAP). To get your CAP card, you'll need to fill out an application and provide documents (listed on the application) proving that you're eligible to receive help. Your card will be valid for 6 months.

The Gilbert CAP office is located inside the Heritage Center at:

132 W. Bruce Ave.
Gilbert, AZ 85233

2. Visit us.

Once you're approved by CAP, you can come to Open Arms:

  • Twice a month for food
  • Once a month for clothing

When you arrive, we will:

  1. Review your card to make sure you're eligible.
  2. Put together a food box based on the size of your family. This will take about 30 minutes. If you need clothes, you can go upstairs to pick out 3 items per family member while you wait.
  3. Deliver the food and clothes to your car.
